Views From a Bus
Views From A Bus...
Back in 2008, after living in Paris and studying photography for an 9 intense months, I decided to take a couple of months off and travel through Africa. I chose a trip that entailed living on a truck that had been converted into a bus. I would be traveling with 17 other people, cooking and buying our own food, living in tents in the wilderness - often amongst wild animals, digging our own toilets, and generally being ‘off-the-grid’ for 7 weeks. We covered an incredible amount of territory - 17,000 kms from Cape Town in South Africa, up through Namibia,
across Botswana and Zimbabwe, up to Zambia and Malawi, through Tanzania, finishing in Nairobi, Kenya.
It’s one of the most incredible, life-changing journey’s of my life. I chose only to take my camera. No cell phone, no laptop, no music. Just me and the incredible vastness of this enormous, diverse continent.
This series is the view from my seat on the bus. Of the ever changing landscape of Africa, and the diversity of it’s people.
